February 14 is a few days away and while most parents will cringe at their idea of their little children 'in love', the truth is love has more dimensions than mainstream media chooses to project.

There is the love between parent and child, a love for grandparents, pets, for teachers and friends.

Love can be multi-dimensional. It also can add to your life.

Teaching children to see love in this way can be beneficial for when your teenage hormones kick in.

It's also worth sharing with children the idea that something from the heart, handmade with their time and effort is worth more than something bought.

This Valentine's Day avoid getting your family wrapped up in commercial rewards and have a bit of fun making the cards and presents together.
