Ed Sheeran has set up an Instagram account for his beloved cats.

So far the cats are just following Ed and his fiancée Cherry Seaborn.

The mittens will no doubt get plenty more fans as the 'Perfect' hitmaker's security guard Kev now has 965,000 thanks to his famous pal's plugging.

The flame-haired star previously revealed his "strange" kitties sit on the sofa like humans.

His beloved pets have developed the weird trait since he and Cherry brought them into their Suffolk home and they started perching their fluffy bottoms on the cushions with their legs stretched out.

He said: "I've been with my girlfriend almost three years. We went to high school together. She's really cool, we live together, we have cats. We've just got a Christmas tree and put that up.

"We've got two cats but they're both really, really, really strange creatures. They do have ribs but they sit up like humans with their legs stretched out. They should have their own Instagram account. They're called Calippo and Dorito."

Ed even previously had big plans for his cats to have a music career.

The 26-year-old singer/songwriter was dead set on making a record called "Meowalbum", which was to feature his songs sung by the purrs and meows of the fluffy pair, but he ditched his plans when he found out it had already been done before.

He said: "I really, really wanted to make a Meowlbum, which is all my songs with Meow in it.

"My cats are twin sisters and amazing in their own way."
