Celebrity brand endorsements and partnerships have become quite essential in a celebrity’s “life span” these days, especially with alcohol brands.

We have seen a number of stars who have jumped on the wagon, endorsing, partnering with or actually owning and developing their own alcohol brands.

One recent and exciting partnership we have seen is between award-winning music duo, Black Motion and Ballantine’s Scotch whisky.

This partnership started two years ago in an attempt to find the sounds that make South Africa-and Africa-unique, and they have recently announced their first-ever music tour that they will be hosting as partners, the Multi-City SA Music Tour.

The tour is set to hit six cities across the country this April and May starting with Durban tonight (Friday, April 06) at Under the Moon in Inanda.

Ballantine’s Scotch whisky will produce the tour under the brand’s Stay True banner, which celebrates what it means to stay authentic to your craft, your passion and your music.

Speaking to Ballantine’s Assistant Brand Manager, Keval Ramraj, he said Ballantine’s Scotch whisky proudly supports artists who refuse to compromise, who have confidence to make music their way and to stay true to their craft.

“We felt that Black Motion embodied what we stand for as a brand and at the time they were emerging artists who stayed true to their craft, despite any criticism they faced.

People can look out for an exhilarating, high energy, multi award winning performance from Ballantine’s ambassadors- Black Motion”, said Ramraj.

He said Ballentine’s whisky will be stocked at all bars at the venue and can be drunk how you like it, it can be drunk with a mixer of your choice, and there isn’t a right way to drink whisky.

Tickets for this event will be available at the door for R80 general and R150 VIP.

Other celebrity alcohol brand endorsements and ambassadors are radio host and actor, Thando Thabethe who joined recording artist, Cassper Nyovest as Ciroc ambassadors.

In 2016 AKA also made an official ambassadorship deal with Cruz vodka with Russian Bear vodka brand also collaborating with rapper Ricky Rick for a limited edition Ricky Rick X Russian Bear.

Also, fashion designer David Tlale and TV personality Bonang Matheba recently welcomed rapper, Anatii as the ambassador of the Courvoisier, a French cognac brand.
