Sharpen your knives because top chef Rosemary Shrager and expert baker John Whaite return to put more amateur cooks through their paces in a second series of #ChoppingBlock, which premieres on ITV Choice (DStv 123) on Monday, September 11 at 18:20.

Each week three couples head into the competitive cooking school to show off their culinary skills.

Here they’re tested on their basic techniques – from whipping up the perfect mash to serving the tastiest chicken - and challenged to recreate some of Rosemary and John’s favourite dishes.

The pairs range from siblings to friends, co-workers and couples.

Each day they must work together to tackle a trio of culinary tests in a bid to be named ‘Best Cooks’.

In the penultimate episode of the week, one couple is sent home, leaving two to battle it out in the final showdown.

The victorious double act walks away with a cash prize, while the remaining couple ends up on the chopping block.

So what can you expect from Chopping Block this time round?

In the first episode super competitive pals Phill and Liam catch Rosemary’s attention – for both the wrong and right reasons – while vegetarian teaching assistant Joanne struggles with a chicken-based skills test.

Meanwhile step siblings Hilal and Jevdet make a last-minute change to their recipe after overhearing some key advice from the judges.

But who has what it takes to walk away with that all important prize?

Chopping Block will broadcast on ITV Choice weekdays from 18:20-19:10 .
