Wine lovers are set to experience the very best in wines at this year’s Young Guns at Heart event.
This promises to be an evening of wine, music and fun with South Africa’s larger-than-life winemakers who will all be on stage sharing their wine-making journeys.
This wine event takes place annually and is organized by the Wine Cellar fine merchants.
Speaking to Wine Cellar Director Roland Peens about the aims of the event, Peens says too many wine tastings are just plain boring so they offer an exciting evening that has lots of laughs, fun stories and delicious wines.
“The winemakers on stage are the best personalities in the business and the tasters will get to know the winemakers more intimately than ever before. Since 2011, Wine Cellar has been identifying young winemakers that have been pushing the boundaries in wine making. The new wave of Young Gun winemakers hasn’t followed the rule-book and these Young Guns at heart seem to follow the same mantra. Our aim is to tell stories of how South Africa has turned into the most exciting wine country in the world today”, he says.
“Wine Cellar hosts around 100 wine tasting events per year, but Young Guns is the biggest. It’s our 8th event and each year we try and make the evening unique and more exciting. We hosted ‘Young Guns and Old Bullets’ in 2016 where we featured legends whose sons have taken over their famous wineries. This year we host real legends of the industry that are young at Heart!
Young Guns at Heart will be held in Johannesburg on Thursday, 21 June at The Barnyard Theatre in Rivonia and in Cape Town on Friday, 22 June at Century City Conference Centre.
The ticket price is R 595 per ticket which includes a light dinner.
