CORN BRAAI BREAD by Lisa Stanley PICTURE: Supplied
MAHLE Behr South Africa has released a cookbook, featuring recipes from their staff members. A novel approach to get their staff members involved in the company's CSI programme, the cookbook exclusively has recipes that are created by staff members of the multinational company. There was a competition element to the cookbook too, with employees standing a chance to win bragging rights of being the best cook in the company.

"The purpose of the employee cookbook was to have employees share their favourite recipes - the ones they make at home for family and friends." says Jolene van Heerden, Mahle's communications manager.
"Developing our own branded cookbook has been a fun way to unite our employees and promote employee engagement whilst donating to two worthy charitable causes. It has also been a way to embrace diversity and cultural heritage of our employees."

The children of the company's employees were also roped in to contribute to the cookbook, with illustrations.

The winning recipe was the corn braai bread by Lisa Stanley. Here's the recipe, below:

“This recipe starts in the kitchen where friends gather to chat and laugh while the ingredients are
combined and baked. It has graced our braais and get-togethers for many years and has always been
a hit, especially on those chilly evenings. The adults love it, the kids love it and I love it because it is so
easy to make! I hope you love it too!”
