Jamie Oliver's new cookbook, Jamie Cooks Italy has one recipe that might really make your heart skip a beat.

The TV chef has included a recipe for what he calls a Carnival Lasagne in his cookbook — basically, it's a combination of lasagne, spaghetti and a pie.

The Daily Mail reports that the dish has "638 calories and 26g of fat per slice."

This is a far cry from the healthy-eating Jamie that has made it his mission to beat obesity in British schools and has been campaigning for politicians to provide kids with healthier options.

Overall the book has divided opinion on social media and in the comments section of online bookstores.  Some foodies can't wait to get stuck into the recipes, as the book details Oliver's travels around Italy.

Tonight’s dinner was from the new @jamieoliver cookbook Libyan fish stew with minty cous cous and toasted cumin (although I substituted the grouper for cod loins) first recipe test from this new book and have to say it went down amazingly well 👌🏻 (anything with harissa in is a winner for me) I had a half portion of cous cous to lower the carb content a bit but it was otherwise a good healthy weekend dish 🙌 #jamieoliver #jamieoliverrecipe #libyanfishstew #fish #fishstew #sundaydinner #fitfood #fitfoodporn #fitfoodie #fitfam #fitness #fitlife #healthyfood #healthydinner #healthyrecipes #jamiecooksitaly #italian #stew #couscous #healthy #healthyfood #perfectendtotheweekend #fitfamuk #healthyrecipe #cod

  • Risotto and rice pudding - 70g
  • Ham, egg and chips - 676 calories and 45.9g of fat

Having spearheaded the campaign for kids to be served healthier meals at schools, Oliver is now being carefully watched by foodie fans to see if he is himself recommending people eat healthier.
