Citrus has been used to flavour drinks and dishes for many years, but in the last ten years has become somewhat of a trend as consumers drive the perception of flowers, teas and exotic fruits as healthy and unique flavour enhancers.

The House of Angostura’s citrus flavoured Orange Bitters is a complex blend of tropical oranges and spices.

The Old Fashioned

Ingredients

60ml Bourbon

1½ teaspoons Demerara syrup (one-part Demerara sugar dissolved in one-part hot water)

Splash of water

2 dashes Angostura Aromatic Bitters

1 dash Angostura Orange Bitters

Method

Build in a lowball glass, stir with ice to incorporate ingredients. Add ice. Garnish with a long orange peel.
