This option is perfect for vegetarians and non-vegetarians to throw on the braai. It's a great way to add vegetables to your plate of braaied meat.  

Spicy grilled corn
Preparation time: 5 minutes   
Cooking time: 10-15 minutes  
Serves 6

Ingredients
  • 6 sweet corn on the cob, halved
  • Spice mix 
  • 2tbsp smoked Maldon salt
  • ½ tbsp cayenne pepper 
  • 2tbsp chilli flakes 
  • 2tbsp dried mixed herbs
  • 2tbsp smoked paprika 
To serve 
  • Butter 
Method
  1. Chop the corn in half.
  2. Soak the corn in a bowl of cold water until it is ready to cook – this will prevent it from burning on the grill.
  3. Mix together the spice mix ingredients and set to one side.
  4. Put the corn on the braai for 10 minutes or so until cooked making sure you turn it every few minutes. 
  5. Once cooked and nicely charred remove from the grill.
  6. Brush with butter and sprinkle generously with the spice mix.
