Catering and cooking for someone with a sensitive tummy can be a difficult task.

There are ingredients, fruit and vegetable which you either need to use in moderation or exclude entirely from your dish.

Food For Sensitive Tummies by registered dieticians Gabi Steenkamp and Catherine Day is a great guide to what to do and what not to cook if you have to prepare a meal for someone who has this problem.

It’s estimated that more than 10 percent of Africans on the continent suffer from Irritable Bowel Syndrome, so preparing meals for sensitive constitutions is a daily reality for many.

Not only is this a cookbook but it’s also a lifestyle guide to how to deal with tummy health issues and even how to create a shopping list to navigate the supermarket aisles when you have to keep a sensitive tummy top of mind.

The recipe chapter is divided into recipes for breakfast, main meals, light meals, snacks and tummy fixers and the chapter for super sensitive tummies is very helpful.

The chocolate brownie recipe is a great example of what the book offers, recipes that won't make your tummy rumble and cause your eating regrets. And it might appear to be simple recipes to those that don't have sensitive tummies, but for sufferers this book is a great help.
