“When I see food I think visual and taste first, that is my end goal with every recipe.” The idea for this new season came about after fans asked Siba if they could join her at her table. “On social media people have been asking if they can come to my table, but it’s impractical for us to get people to come, especially since the show airs in over 100 countries,” she says. “We thought about inviting people to join the table by submitting their recipes and I will give it a twist. The way we chose the recipes was either something that people wanted to and a twist to or if there was more than one request for a recipe I went with that.”

Themes for the new season will include: classics made over, fast, portable, dinner solutions and budget meals.

Sushi Rice

Preparation time: 5 minutes

Cooking time: 20- 25 minutes

3 cups sushi rice

4 cups water

Pinch of salt

1 T rice wine vinegar

2 T black sesame seeds

Micro herbs to garnish

Place the rice and salted water in a pot and bring to the boil over medium heat.

Reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered for 20-25 minutes until the rice is cooked and all the water has evaporated.

Cool down, not so longfor about 5 minutes.

Stir in the vinegar.

Transfer into a large round dish. Tip the rice in.

Press down with your hands dipped in water to prevent the rice from sticking. It’s best served warm or at room temp than chilled since its goes with the meat and calamari – which are served warm or at room temp.

Tip into a platter or flat serving dish and sprinkle with black sesame seeds.

Garnish with microherbs.

The fourth season of Siba’s Table: Sibalicious is currently in production and will air on the food Network Channel 175 early 2018 which will feature the winning recipes.
