While winter may not have officially arrived yet in Cape Town, but there is definitely a chill in the air and what better way to fight the cold than with a warm dish.

Guests can enjoy views of the private beach and the ocean from inside the restaurant, while enjoying dishes created by chef Adrian Cook.

Cook combines simplicity with elegance by presenting easy, comfort foods in fine dining style.

The menu is packed with familiar favourites and caters for every palate.

We started with local black mussels in a creamy garlic and white wine sauce with homemade herby focaccia, which I quite enjoyed because the flavours worked so well together.

I also enjoyed the potato gnocchi with truffled cauliflower purée, grilled florets, sautéed oyster mushrooms and sage.

The meat lovers will enjoy the venison and leek ragout in a bouchée with red wine poached pears and a red wine reduction.

The meat is tender and flavourful.

The winter menu includes a deliciously flavourful chicken and mushroom pot pie, well paired with pumpkin fritters in a caramel sauce.

I also enjoyed the pulled pork belly burger on a toasted ciabatta with sriracha coleslaw, bacon and fried onion rings and fries.

The dessert menu includes smoked dark chocolate fondant with cognac ice cream or delicious chai crème brûlée with peanut brittle and winepoached

pears.
