The Bubbles and Brunch promotion at The Cape Milner is taking place every Saturday and Sunday in May between 11h00 and 14h00.

My husband decided to spoil me pre-mother's day this year with the first Bubbles and Brunch brunch special at The Glass Lounge in the Cape Milner Hotel, which offers stunning views of Table Mountain and Tamboerskloof.

We chose the a-la-carte option of the Mother’s Day brunch - the Bubbles and Brunch menu, which includes a bottle of Miss Molly MCC per table for for R275 per person.

On arrival at our table we were presented with a basket of pastries, croissants and warm buttermilk scones with country jam, cheese and Chantilly cream - accompanied by a bottle of of chilled Miss Molly MCC - which alone would be considered to be a generous continental breakfast at many establishments.

We were then presented with Starters: 

Homemade muesli with Bulgarian yoghurt and berry compote.

 

Admittedly, I was already quite full, however, with 2 more courses on offer I stoically pushed forward with my choice of mains.

I chose Lemon cream cheese filled pancakes served with gooseberries and berry compote while my husband opted for scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and chives.

The other options for Mains are: 

- Spiced banana French toast served with smoked bacon, chilli labneh and tamarind caramel 

- Rosemary and garlic ciabatta served with a poached egg, hollandaise sauce and a choice of either smoked salmon, hickory ham or local spinach.

Dessert

followed with a choice of homemade chocolate macaroons, cheesecake with blueberries and crisp fruit kebabs, to be enjoyed with a choice of tea, or cappuccino - a full feast.

At the end of the meal I was presented with a a special hand-crafted gift to take home.

At R275 this is an absolute steal.

There is also an option of the full The Bubbles and Brunch promotion for R350 per person. If you do choose this option I suggest that you skip dinner the evening before as it includes:

A buffet of tapas, artisan breads served with hummus, basil pesto, tzatziki and olive tapenade, an assortment of local cheeses, seafood platters and oysters. 

This is followed by the same choice of 4 mains and desserts and also includes a bottle of Miss Molly MCC, to be shared between every two guests, with a special hand-crafted gift to spoil mom on her Cape Milner Mother’s Day experience.

The venue is child friendly - we took our 4 year old daughters with and the staff were extremely accommodating - even making them pancakes on request.
