The Yard at Silo is a trendy new restaurant known for their bold take on Asian and European cuisine.
Located in the Silo District at the V&A Waterfront, The Yard has gained in popularity, following the opening and launch of its lunch menu last September.
The restaurant has since expanded its menu by adding brunch on Sundays.
The Yard’s brunch menu includes a range of options designed to satisfy any palate. It includes various traditional brunch favourites, with the signature having a Euro-Asian twist.
Grilled peach cheesecake
From croissants - plain served with housemade jam and matured almond chocolate to specialty omelettes - with salsa, avocado, coriander, and lime or chicken hollandaise sauce and capers and benedict with maltaise hollandaise and poached eggs, they have a tasty menu.
There's a specialty Indian brunch menu, which includes a chicken, egg, masala or cheese dosa, Pao Keema - housemade Indian spiced bread served with mince lamb and peas. Chicken Biryani - a Cape Town favourite is also on offer as well as a vegan omelette filled with mushroom, tomato peppers onion or your choice of fillings.
For those who fancy something sweet or savoury, the waffles is a must have!
The savoury selection includes a delicious bobotie, beef mince and fried egg waffle, that’s just right for those chilled Autumn mornings.
There's also the option of cheese and exotic mushroom and hummus avo and poached eggs.
And what’s a brunch without bagels?
The Yard Outside
Bagel- lovers can choose from a selection of signature bagels including tea smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers and tomatoes or saffron chicken tikka with turmeric mayo mango chutney or grilled veg hummus tzatziki.
Brunch starts at 10 am and while sinking your teeth into one of the delicious offerings, guests will be entertained by a live jazz band from noon.
Guests can choose to dine inside where the restaurant also opens up to a retails space with a range of urban homeware, decor, accessories and clothing.
Alternatively, guests enjoy their meals outside while basking in the Autumn sun.
The venue is ideal for a catch-up with friends before visiting Zeitz MOCCA museum of contemporary art or a shopping trip at the V&A Waterfront.
