There's a new La Parada restaurant in Cape Town. Picture supplied

With La Parada restaurants in in Bree Street and at Constantia Nek, Cape Town is getting another one at the V&A Waterfront.

Billed as an “oasis of Spanish-inspired old world style” this eatery will have all the features and favourites of existing La Parada’s.

Dressed in a vibrant palette that’s inspired by authentic Spanish eateries and design, the new La Parada features beautifully coloured patterned floors, a floor-to-ceiling wall of jungle print wallpaper, a slew of bespoke furniture items and eclectic artworks and collectables, curlicued balustrades that take guests upstairs to the private whisky bar called The Durrage and a tumble of indoor plants that add to the sultry atmosphere - the mix of Spanish jazz and upbeat contemporary music completes the sensory scene.

La Parada has an all-day mentality and a menu to match. The mornings see guests soaking up the sun and harbour views over coffees and breakfasts while sitting on the conservatory style terrace with a view (breakfast stars range from the Crispy Jamon Benedict to Chorizo and White Bean Puree on Toast and S’mores French Toast – a marshmallow and chocolate French Toast confection).

There's lots on the menu at the new La Parada. Picture supplied

By the time its noon, things start to heat up – the cocktail bar staff see their first orders come through and so the vibrancy and extrovert spirit of La Parada comes to the fore.

At the new La Parada it’s all about food and the sense of celebration that comes with dining together.
