Vista Marina is located in the V&A Waterfront - tucked away behind the entrance to the Two Oceans Aquarium (previously the casual eatery that was attached to the Aquarium).

It has re-gone a complete re-vamp and is now a stylish eatery with decor resembling the interior of a luxury liner, with a chic cool vibe.

With gorgeous views of the V&A Marina, the aptly named Vista Marina offers diners uninterrupted views of the V&A Waterfront’s marina and Table Mountain.

We were welcomed by the owners, who chatted to patrons, ensuring that we were all enjoying ourselves.

The food and decor was inspired by the Mediterranean, with elegant crisp white furnishings, sumptuous touches of gold, long white trestle tables dressed in crisp white linen. Keeping with the nautical theme one wall has a fish tank containing beautiful, exotic marine species.

The decor at Vista Marina Restaurant is Mediterranean inspired.

I chose the Mediterranean platter for a starter - which consisted of deep fried pita bread, tabouleh salad, and hummus. It is enough for 2 as a starter or for the not-so-hungry to pick on over cocktails.

For mains I had the Linguini Ai Frutti Di Mare - linguini pasta with clams, mussels, shrimp, calamari fish and Napolitano sauce - which was delectable.

There was a live DJ to complete vibe and apart from the excellent food and service - this is definitely one of the coolest places Cape Town.

Comfortable long trestle tables are perfect for long lazy lunches with friends.

The menu is well priced and the portions are more than adequate.

They also host birthday parties, and private events - there is a separate enclosed balcony area that can be hired for smaller events.

I can definitely recommend a visit to Vista Marina - value for money and excellent cuisine.

The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner from 9am to 11pm, and you can choose to either dine inside or outside weather dependent.
