Durban coffee lovers are in for a great treat this summer as the hand-crafted coffee drink store Starbucks alongside Taste Holdings open its doors in the city this November.

The hub of activity for tourists, locals and all those who like to party, Florida Road, will play stage to first Starbucks in the city opening on 25 November followed by popular shopping destination, Gateway Theatre of Shopping on 28 November.

Durban is the third location in the Starbucks store rollout, following Johannesburg and Pretoria.

Both stores will offer the full Starbucks range, including its 100% Arabica coffee, as well as refreshing drinks such as Teavana iced teas, and a delicious fresh food menu and will also feature a full Starbucks reserve bar, small-lot coffees sourced from around the world and brewed through a variety of brewing methods, including Siphon, Pour-Over, Black Eagle, and the Clover™ machine.

Chief Executive Officer of Taste Holdings, Carlo Gonzaga said: “Our new store opening comes during a time when coffee culture in Durban is thriving, and we are excited to be part of this growth.

"Florida Road carries so much history, much like Starbucks. We want to open stores that become a third place – a place that becomes part of the community and where people come together to create genuine connections, make memories, and be part of something special. We are honoured to be part of this heritage site,” he said.
