General Manager of Palazzo, Linda Reddy, says “the new Spring High Tea menu has been created by the hotel’s award-winning Head Pastry Chef, Marco Gaspar, who has an excellent eye for detail and a passion for producing the most flavour-packed items. This experience is a feast for the eyes and taste buds, and will delight everyone with a wide selection of fruity flavours in line with the fresh new season, indulgent dessert items, an absolutely delicious savoury selection, and exquisite teas and coffees.”

The sweets selection includes green apple cheesecake with crispy base, mango passion fruit pudding with coconut milk sago, key lime tart with vanilla whipped ganache, coconut and lime mousse cake with tropical fruit jelly, dark chocolate custard choux puff, sweet and savoury scones with chantilly cream, strawberry jam and cheese, strawberry and pistachio custard tart, and quintessential macarons.

The savoury menu includes sandwiches; beef pastrami, smoked salmon, grilled halloumi and homemade sweet chilli on Italian bread; Moroccan vegetable pie, tarragon mustard on cocktail pretzels; dill cream cheese and pink peppercorn bagel; smoked salmon and ricotta cheese, and semi-dried tomato and feta quiches.
High Teas at the Palazzo are available daily from 2pm to 5pm, at R260 per person. Booking is essential on 011 510 3000.
