The World Cup is a celebration of the diversity of nations and the world coming together to embrace cultural differences without pain or prejudice.

Football. Futbol. Voetbal. Futebol. Fußball. Fotboll. Calcio. Soccer. No matter what you call it, no other sport comes close to matching the worldwide passion for this beautiful and global game and is the perfect match for your passion for food and drink.

Why do billions of television viewers around the world watch?

It is the greatest reality show on earth, a month when countries pause to acknowledge and admire the assets of other nations, and it is your challenge to show your tolerance and understanding by drinking your way through the tournament.

Beer and football is the perfect combination. Who can forget cheers-ing a beer to Simphiwe Tshabalala’s opening goal in the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Raising a glass of cold pressed kale juice just wouldn’t have the same effect, would it?

This is why the best way to celebrate a nation's culture and diversity is to drink the local brew.

I have tried to balance out the quest for decent beer with the important factors of price and availability...and I invite you to raise your pints and join me in a toast to celebrate the 2018 FIFA World Cup and everything positive it stands for.
