30 000 litres of Prosecco lost after a fermentation tank exploded.

Italian Prosecco lovers are experiencing some heartache after a fermentation tank burst at a winery, causing an overflow of the sparkling wine, causing about 30, 000 litres of the sparkling wine to be lost.

According to The Sun, the pressurised tank exploded in Conegliano, Veneto, in the province of Treviso, with footage of the wasted wine posted on Facebook by the L'enoteca Zanardo Giussano winery.

The publication reported that instead of being mad, the Prosecco producers simply confessed there was “too much in the silos”.

The video has since been viewed over one million times and has twelve thousand shares on the Zanardo Guissano Facebook page.

As much as it was a very painful situation but some comments from the post really cracked me up.

Shane Mcleod Brennan wrote: “ I would grab as many containers, bottles, bags, cups and the report would be; “Shane died doing what he loved the most’ attempting to drink to drink a 100, 000 litre bottle of wine”.

Zoe Hall wrote: “I’d be stood underneath with my mouth open and a bucket to catch it and take it home” (laughing).
