Yesterday was World Baking Day- the sweetest day on the food calendar and a great day to bake your cake and eat it.
If you missed it, there's no need to panic, you can still bake your favourite cake and share the joy this weekend.
Baking is a great stress reliever and an activity the whole family can enjoy.
It's a good excuse for professional and amateur bakers to show off their baking skills and spread the love one slice at a time.
Local foodies, J'Something and Zola Nene were part of Thursday's Baking Day festivities and hosted cake- off classes in Pretoria and Cape Town, respectively, where guests could watch them in action and enjoy a slice of cake afterwards.

In Cape Town, at the Velvet Cape Company, Zola showed guests how to make her Piña Colada Layered Cake, with help from television personalty Katlego Maboe.
Needless to say, the cake was a hit!
