If you missed the deadline to serve up a dish for the judges then don’t stress, you can still enter season 2 of My Kitchen Rules.

The #MKRSA auditions were held countrywide on 13 and 14 January, pairs had to serve a cold dish to the judges as the search kicked off for a new batch of contestants.

Chef David Higgs gave some insight into what he’s looking for when judging the food on #MKRSA and some tips for prospective contestants.

“It’s all about the food stories,” he says. “The dish has to say something about you and tell a story,” he adds.

Jamandi and Machiel, from Bloemfontein walked off with the top honours and the R1 million prize money in the first season and both of them had heaps of personality which they served up in their food.

J Something who is himself a passionate home cook, is also on the hunt for dishes and flavours that unique.
