Virtual Event: Cape Town International Kite Festival

CAPE TOWN - The Cape Town International Kite Festival goes virtual for its 26th event with the theme of ‘Hope on the Rise – Invest in Mental Health’ with the goal of raising R250 000 to support free and essential mental health services.

The Cape Town International Kite Festival is an annual event hosted by Cape Mental Health, an organisation with a rich history and the oldest mental health organisations in South Africa that aims to provide much-needed support to those with mental disabilities providing various initiatives through counselling programmes, workshops and essential support.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year's annual event will be held virtually with Cape Mental Health looking to continue their support with all proceeds from the virtual Cape Town International Kite Festival donated to non-profit organisations to enable them to continue providing their mental health services to those in-need.

The virtual Cape Town International Kite Festival will start from 10 October to the 31st with a variety of activities online and real-life with plenty of competitions, interviews with kite-flyers from around the world, kite-making workshops and performances from comedian Dalin Oliver, musician Jarrad Ricketts and dance performance from Manila von Teez.

Tickets are recommended at R50 and seen as direct donations with all proceeds funding essential free mental health services and gains access to various kite workshops and online performances throughout the entire event.
