Jumbo had their third annual hair show yesterday at Turbine Hall in Johannesburg.

Jumbo Hair Show started in 2014 at Durban by Morgan Naidoo.

African locks.

It is an initiative where hair lovers, salon owners and clients get to engage with brands by getting a deeper understanding on how to use products. However, in 2015 there was no Jumbo Hair Show but it came back in 2016 and now, it has moved to Jozi.

“The hair show is specifically targeted at the salon market and it was so successful that we skipped 2015. Our customers and salons wanted to know why we didn't do it.

"We did it in 2016, the interest was so great. We then decided that Joburg is the right place to move the show to. We got a lot of support from our manufacturers because they were looking at how can they educate our customers to use their products better, So their hair doesn’t get damaged”, says Naidoo.

After starting with just 14 suppliers back in Durban, over 50 brands were in Joburg yesterday, teaching people how to use products while introducing new ones as well.

Due to the support and how well the show was received, Naidoo is pleased to have moved it to a bigger city and is planning on keeping it in Jozi for the next coming years.
