Summer brings memories of refreshing drinks with friends, lazy days in the sun and family trips to your favourite picnic spot.

Here are a few pointers from Lipton Ice Tea to make your summer picnic the best yet!

1. Healthy and easy to eat!

No need for boring soggy sandwiches. Mix it up with a nutritious potato salad, but use less mayonnaise and rather add basil pesto to give it a healthy kick and a bright colour. Another family favourite is ‘easy-to-eat wraps’. Opt for whole-wheat wraps, add chopped lettuce for crunch, shredded chicken breasts, your favourite veggies and some feta. Wrap individually for easy opening and eating!

2. Is it even a picnic without a punch?

Nothing gives you that summer feeling more than sipping on an ice-cold, refreshing drink. Lipton Ice Tea is the ideal drink for summer picnics. It’s the perfect combination of sun-kissed tea leaves and fruit juice providing a delicious, invigorating taste. What makes it even better is the new Sugar Free variants, which can be enjoyed by the whole family.

Prepare a delicious Lipton Ice Tea Punch beforehand to take with you.

Lipton Ice Tea has introduced NEW Sugar-Free Iced Tea in Peach and Lemon flavours.

This simple recipe only needs Lipton Ice Tea Lemon Sugar Free, orange juice and a few fresh fruit slices. You’ll blow your friends and family away with brightly coloured cups and some pineapple garnish to finish it off.

For the kids, prepare a Lipton Ice Tea Peach and Strawberry Twist: Combine Lipton Ice Tea Peach with 2 teaspoons of strawberry syrup over ice. Garnish with fresh strawberries and serve with fruit skewers as a playful treat.

3. Plan the activities

Summer games such as ballgames and boardgames are great for keeping the kids entertained while you work up an appetite. Grab a ball and get adults and kids alike up and running to score a goal, or simply pack a ream of notepaper and get the family paired up for a noughts and crosses challenge.

On the topic of kids – keep them entertained with a treasure hunt by packing some healthy treats in brightly-coloured boxes. When the kids aren’t looking, find some clever spots to hide them. Hunting their surprises will keep them busy while you enjoy the summer sun.

4. Keep your fam fit!

Now that you’re opting for sugar-free refreshment, add some exercise to the picnic outing! Grab a frisbee and get your friends and family up for a bit of fun. Pack in a ball and have the kids see how far they can kick or divide into teams to play goalie and let the fun begin.
