Spree.co.za, SA’s leading online fashion retailer, once again impressed Johannesburg fashionistas with a perfectly choreographed high-energy fashion experience, showcasing key pieces from Spree’s Spring Summer 2017 collection to the guests in attendance.

The Tin Factory provided a cool urban backdrop for the ‘Summer On My Skyline’ event, with models styled in the hottest pieces from the Spring/Summer 2017 collection that included everything from feminine frills to sexy swimwear. Inspired by the vibe of Joburg’s streets, Spree’s Creative Director Chris Viljoen and Fashion Producer Deon Redman captured this infectious energy for Spree’s summer 2017 experience.

“Summer campaigns are always shot at the coast, on the beach or around a pool. We were wanted to do things a little differently this season and keep summer in the city. We were inspired by the colour and vibrancy of Joburg’s streets. The city has a fashion heartbeat like no other!”, said Viljoen.

Guests were suitably impressed, with the team successfully curating another seamless high-energy lineshow style event, now a Spree signature. An array of perfectly choreographed models arrived in serious style to DJ Ms Cosmo’s beats and posed on a raised revolving platform, allowing the audience to form a crowd around the fashion installation and capture the moment. Hip hop dancers took to the stage mid-show much to the crowd’s delight.

Guests were able to play in four ‘trend pods’ styled to celebrate the Spring/Summer 2017 collection and hottest trends of the season. Pods, which included ‘Ruffles & Frills’, ‘The Index’, ‘Colour Block’ and ‘Elevator’, all saw guests queuing up to pose, perfect summer profile pictures in the making.

The keenly-awaited experience saw a fashionable Johannesburg crowd once again out in force, with guests including Rich Mnisi, Tellaman, Kyle Deutsch, Shekhinah, Kwesta, Gemini Major, Cassandra Twala, Sonia Booth and Anisa Mpungwe. Media darlings, musicians, fashion designers and of course the city’s fashionistas all mingled to the sounds of Jozi’s hottest young DJ of the moment, Ms Cosmo. It was a fashion night in the city to remember.

“We love Johannesburg! After the success of our last two fashion experiences, we’ve set the bar high so we wanted to ensure we continued to wow Spree guests. Yesterday’s fashion experience offered a vibrant, interactive way to play with summer trends, view the Spree SS17 collection and of course have fun. After all, that’s what fashion is all about", added Viljoen.

Launched in April 2013, Spree aims to inspire & serve the South-African shopper to be their most fashionable self, no matter their lifestyle, pocket or where they live.
