One of the hottest makeup trends at this season's South African Fashion Week (SAFW) was bold eyeliner.

Brightly coloured eyeliner is a fresh, vibrant and playful alternative to the classic black liquid liner.

Lead make-up artist, Lesley Whitby, renowned for creating flawless faces that emphasise natural features, curated bright and bold looks for the Style By SA show.

She took us through a few very easy steps to create the look using Woolworth's WBeauty Heat Wave eyeshadow palette.

  • A natural looking dewy finish foundation is the base for this application.
  • Using a liquid eyeliner brush apply the bright colour as close to the lash line as possible. To intensify the colour dampen the tip of the brush.

  • There's been a move away from well-defined brows so keep your brows natural by simply bring them through using eyebrow gel.

  • Apply some bronzing powder to cheeks.

Even though this look works well without any lip colour, a bright pop of orange lipstick adds a dramatic flair to the whole look.

Finish the application with a few sprits of finishing spray to not set your makeup but add that natural dewy shine.
