Last fall, CoverGirl made history when the brand tapped beauty vlogger James Charles as its first male spokesmodel. Now another male make-up guru is getting a major campaign, this time for Maybelline New York.

Manny Gutierrez, who goes by Manny MUA on social media, has partnered with the mass-market brand with fellow influencer Shayla Mitchell on a new video promoting its just-released The Colossal Big Shot Mascara.

In the video, the pair roll around on a mascara-strewn bed before applying the product to their lashes.

Manny, who has over two million YouTube subscribers, said in a press release that he's thrilled that Maybelline is 'recognizing male influencer talent and is willing to shine a spotlight on it'.

When he started his channel in 2014, Manny took his belief that 'make-up is genderless and has no rules' and ran with it.

Before partnering with Maybelline, the vlogger worked on collaborations with influencer-loved brands Makeup Geek and Ofra Cosmetics.

James, who recently starred in a CoverGirl commercial alongside fellow ambassador Katy Perry, prides himself on creating out-of-the-box content such as his Snapchat galaxy filter and chunky glitter tutorials.
