For a Halloween costume, most of us make do with a simple witch’s hat or cheap supermarket mask. But in the world of the rich and famous, fancy dress is taken a lot more seriously.

Leading the pack was Amal Clooney, 39, in a dazzling sequined jumpsuit, huge afro wig and bold make-up.

At another bash, reality TV star Kim Kardashian teamed up with best friend Jonathan Cheban to transform themselves into Sonny and Cher. TV presenter Zoe Ball, 46, did her best Julia Roberts impression, dressing as her character from Pretty Woman and posting images of her raunchy get-up online.

The most drastic transformation was by Bruce Willis, 62. The actor and his friend, producer Stephen Eads, dressed up as the terrifying twins from horror film The Shining. They donned matching blue doll-like dresses with white lace detail, brown wigs and knee-high white socks, at director M Night Shyamalan’s party in Philadelphia.
