Does Duchess Meghan really need so many rings?

THE Duchess of Sussex may have gone to great lengths to avoid upstaging the bride at the wedding with her understated Givenchy dress and coat but the moment she waved to the crowds, she revealed an undeniable flash of gold.

On her left hand, as usual, she wore her engagement ring with a Botswana diamond and her Welsh gold wedding ring. But on her right hand, adorning three fingers were four substantial rings by Canadian designer Pippa Small.

Not only did Meghan, 37, wear Small’s £950 almost ring, two £1,800 Greek rings and a £750 eternity ring, but she also sported a Herkimer diamond bracelet and stud earrings from the same collection.

This prominent display at such a prestigious event is sure to boost the fortunes of the ethical jeweller, who describes herself as a ‘human rights activist and survival ambassador’, and whose interests apparently align closely with those of the Duchess.

Pippa, who has designed for Nicole Farhi, Tom Ford at Gucci and Chloe under Phoebe Philo, can also count the Duchess of Cambridge among her fans.

She is closely involved with the Turquoise Mountain charity, which supports craft projects around the world. Prince Charles is the patron.

Last night Pippa told The Mail on Sunday: ‘To see her wearing our jewellery was amazing. She looked so beautiful. I have never met her but I think we share a lot of interests. It’s wonderful that she is championing our causes.’
