Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana opened its show at Milan Fashion Week with remote-control drones parading down the catwalk.

Guests had been told to turn off the wi-fi on their phones, presumably to prevent interference with the drones’ control systems. The show started 45 minutes late, leaving some fashionistas to storm off.

However, the rest of the show proceeded as normal, with human models displaying the autumn 2018 collection.

The clothes featured Dolce & Gabbana staples such as black lace, tight black dresses, veils and references to traditional Italian costume.

Other designs were bright and glittered and paired with exuberant accessories, such as a pink wig, glasses frames with cartoon exclamations and neon-green fur stilettos.
