Jade Allen, Managing Director of Red Carpet Concepts and founder of the Red Carpet Fashion Show on what to expect.

Please tell us a little about the history of the show, how it started and why?

The Red Carpet Fashion Show is my passion project, birthed seven years ago. I felt inspired to host an event amalgamating arts, fashion, music and culture with artisanal eats and drinks. Each year I feel driven to better the year before. The event has organically developed into the globally recognized production it is today, featuring a mix of leading local and international designer brands and stakeholders.

How are the showcasing designers/brands selected?

Through a curated process, each designer is carefully considered as part of the overall collaboration offering the audience a diversity of looks and styles in high-end fashion, embodying swimwear, street-wear and haute couture.

Please tell us a little about Saturday, what to expect, who will be there etc.? Saturday's event is taking place at Vista Marina, an exquisite water facing venue with a private jetty, nestled beside the V&A Waterfront's Two Ocean's Aquarium. 250 Fashionistas, media, celebs and influencers will gather for Cape Town's couture calendar soirée.  The Red Carpet Fashion show 2017 is being hosted by the gorgeous celebrity emcees Jade Hubner and Tracey Lange.

*Jekyll and Hide will be showcasing their latest ladies’ business handbag range. This collection is versatile and functional yet plays on minimalist trends for the on-the-go woman. Thrown into the mix are also some of our all time favorite mens pieces, created for a lifestyle of both travel and work.

*Lola Romon is about creating beautiful clothes that women love to wear. The La Mode Féministe Collection focuses on creating timeless and elegant pieces that leave women feeling comfortably sophisticated and remarkably confident.

*This season’s M Couture! collection was inspired by a conversation between contrasting prints on a monochrome pallet. Mixing bold prints on delicate fabrics to create a soft and feminine silhouette. The collection uses a lot of colour on simple shapes to create a romantic and whimsical look. Expect lots of frills, flounces, florals and lace, contributed to a sweeter-than-usual mood for day, and then embroided lace and ornate embellishments for the evening.

*Stefania Morland’s collection is easy to wear, with lots of embellishment and natural fabrics. Keeping to the true Stefania style will end off with wedding gowns with a twist.

*Combining silhouettes that compliment ones’ body shape, with cool textures and embellishments is look for Shana Morland’s collection this year. With a strong belief that fashion and the clothes we wear can go a far way in expressing who we are as well as giving off ones’ own perception of beauty.
