South African Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2018 (#SAFWAW18) opened it’s doors last night for the five day show which will see 53 collections from leading designers. Opening the show was LUMIN, the winner of the 2016 Sunglass Hut new talent search.

Last night’s line up also included; Ageo by Arnold Phasha, Ipikoko, I just am, MmusoMaxwell, Danielle Frylinck, Liu Liu, Tuner Studio, Kentse Masilo, Sheila-Madge Design, Ekta, T_Niche, House of Diva, and Style by SA. MmusoMaxwell was crowned the winner of the Sunglass Hut new talent search and will going to the London Fashion Week.

“The Sunglass Hut new talent search was established by SA Fashion Week in 1998 and is the most recognised talent identification initiatives in South Africa. It continues to showcase and market new designer businesses today.

As the winners, MmusoMaxwell will get representation by The Fashion Agent for 1 year valued at R11, 400.00. An opportunity to show a satellite collection as part of the SA Fashion Week New Talent Search AW18 valued at R12, 500.00.
A free stand at the SA Fashion Week Pop Up Shop 2018 in Brooklyn Mall to the value of R6,000.00 and a trip to the London Fashion Week, all expenses paid, in February 2018 valued at R50 000.

SAFWAW18 is still on at Sandton City Rooftop from 6pm. Showcasing tonight is African Style Story Sober, Liz Ogumbo, and Sies! Isabelle just to name a few.
