For Spring/Summer 2018, the BOSS woman heads to the coast in a new collection, entitled ‘Summer of Ease’, created under the artistic direction of Jason Wu. BOSS navigates the codes of womenswear as the brand goes on a mellow summer’s journey, where sophistication goes hand in hand with easy, modern style.

The collection is more relaxed than ever before, with a nautical mood evoking a new ease. This theme is translated in the garments in both their foundation and finish – the use of fabric and detail is key.
Technical laminated nylon and waxed canvas are inspired by rainwear fabrics, in a sporty expression ready for time by the sea. Breezy paper-touch and tactile crumpled cloths sit alongside feather-light tulle in looks that are laid-back yet elevated, elegant yet perfectly undone.

Continuing in the details, rope threaded through metal eyelets, handwoven leather and nautical stripes sit alongside a range of conversational prints – seabirds, micro-fish and waves – lending a youthful and playful touch.
Silhouettes are loose and airy, allowing for easy layering. Trench dresses and lightweight tailored separates feature gathered and wrapped belts. In the case of outerwear and knitwear, parkas, trench coats and cable knits are oversize and voluminous, but again subtly pulled in at the waist with a toggle strap, or effortlessly tucked into pants.

Dresses play with fluidity, shade and texture – this season, it’s a floor-length dress in vivid block colors, a layered design in printed plissé and a sporty vibrant pink dress with utility eyelets.
The brand’s signature tailoring also gets new attitude. Clean pantsuits are crafted from lightweight materials and tailored jackets are paired with fuller skirts, adding an easy-going edge. Accessories complete the collection, featuring striped waxed-canvas totes, slouchy snake-print hobo bags and structured leather shoulder bags, finished with handwoven leather. Shoes for the season follow suit.

Strappy sandals feature the same woven leather details; clean, modern leather mules add a new sophistication and blue espadrilles take a step into the summer.
In a clear expression of a nautical palette, blues, yellow and white form the base of the collection. Moving deeper into the season, sun-faded shades of pale blue and pink are shot through with sunset orange and vibrant purple, while natural shades of canvas and sand ground the collection in its seaside surroundings.
