With Soweto Marathon taking place this coming weekend, you need to be geared properly for this exciting race.
The people’s race will see over 25 000 runners racing through various historical Soweto landmarks including; Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, Walter Sisulu Square of Dedication in Kliptown, the Regina Mundi Church as well as the June 16 Memorial Acre.
Here is what you need to look good while competing:
You cannot be part of a race in just any takkies, even if you’re running the shortest distance, wear running shoes that are comfortable enough to keep you going.
Since it’s summer and it might be hot over the weekend, either wear stretchy tights or shorts. Don’t go for denim shorts, they will make you feel uneasy.
It’s essential to wear a cap as you would probably on a hot day. Protect yourself with a fashionable cap.
This is important for women because it keeps the breasts in tact whilst running. You can also wear a comfortable workout t-shirt on top if you don’t feel like showing skin, just avoid wearing a long sleeve.
Old Mutual Soweto Marathon will take place on November 5, starting at FNB Stadium.
