Kemisoul, Klosette set to showcase at Soweto Fashion Week

The Autumn/Winter season of Soweto Fashion Week (SFW) will host a number of designers revealing collections which attribute to authentic African designs, all of which will have to showcase original designs that are inspired by Winnie Madikizela-Mandela’s own personal fashion style and preferences – from colour palettes, to clothing and accessories.

This year's fashion week features 24 other enigmatic, energetic, talented and inspired designers, whose work will be showcased by a total of 75 models – including 30 male models, 30 ‘petite female’ models and 15 ‘plus size’ models.

SFW will feature collections from brands such as G-Looks, Resydent Clothing, Kemisoul, Dizayina, Klosette and Ruddy Designs.

This year's SFW will also attributes appearances from longtime partner and sponsor Darling Hair, who will be adapting their innovative hairstyles and colour palettes, attributing the inspiration to the theme of Black Panther.

“To encourage inclusion and accessibility – so important to Winnie Mandela - and to make it possible for even more of Africa’s daughters and sons of all ages to enjoy SFW A/W 19, we have lowered our ticket prices by almost 50% from the 2017 price to R95 per day, with a special offer of R50 per day for pensioners and children under the age of 12”, says Stephen Manzini Director of SFW.

This year's Soweto Fashion Week is set to take place from May 30 to June 2 at the Walter Sisulu Hall in Kliptown, and will begin with a launch party at the Soweto Hotel in Kliptown.
