SHE may once have been one of the world’s most sought-after supermodels – but Cara Delevingne was outshone on the red carpet last night.

The 24-year-old, who is now focusing on her acting career, graced the London premiere of the film Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets – in which she is the leading lady – wearing a plunging black Burberry suit with a crystal decoration.

But it was Rihanna, who plays second-fiddle in the film, who stole the show in a startling bright red Giambattista Valli gown that ensured her cleavage was on full display. The dress’s voluminous skirt also meant the singer-turned-actress, 29, was the centre of attention.

In Valerian, Miss Delevingne plays Sergeant Laureline, who tries to save a space station from destruction, while Rihanna has a much smaller role as an alien called Bubble. Despite its star-studded cast, the film, which is released in the UK next week, has flopped in the US.

Speaking from Leicester Square last night, Rihanna said Miss Delevingne ‘blew me away’ with her acting skills, adding that competing with her made her ‘nervous’. Miss Delevingne, meanwhile, told this week’s Radio Times that she didn’t like herself as a model and never cared about her appearance, adding: ‘To be honest, acting is something I’ve wanted to do my entire life. It makes me very happy.’
