The year is almost over, and the fashion industry has raised the bar to the highest level. We’ve seen a lot of creativity from designers, stylists and makeup artists, confirming that the future of fashion is fabulous.

From all the fashion weeks attended this year, from Soweto Fashion Week to South African Fashion Week, this is what caught us the most:

SFW SS 2017

At the SFW SS collection held at Soweto Theatre from October 4-7, Darling Hair showcased their latest collection of clothes made from hair extensions. The purple peplum fringing dress was one of our favourites. Very innovative and fashion forward.

SAFW AW

If there's one thing Gert-Johan Coetzee is capable of, is making one feel like a princess. At the SAFW recently held at the Rooftop in Sandton City, Johannesburg, Coetzee revealed the one arm pink ball gown. The embellishments on this dress flow swiftly, giving you the Cinderella vibes.

Durban Fashion Fair

The top design duo, Quiteria&George never disappoint when it comes to creativity. At the Durban Fashion Fair held at ICC in August, part of their collection was swim wear. We loved the net bathing suit with an attached sarong and tie.

MBFWJ

The Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Johannesburg was one of the best fashion shows for 2017. Held at the Mall of Africa, Midrand in August, the makeup artists did wonders with face beating. Colour and glitter was trending, and we loved the pink cheeks with gold glitters on the lacrimal caruncula face beat.

SA Men's Wear Week

Presented by SA Men's Wear Week AW17 at The Palms Lifestyle Centre, in Woodstock, Cape Town in February, Unknown Union's natural hair trend was the one. We loved the multiple shapes cornrows with beads. Very stylish and creative.
