The Trenery Guild partners with expert tea maker, Swaady Martin of Yswara, who has drawn from Trenery’s unique Folkloric Spice print to inspire an exclusive tea blend. Working alongside the Trenery Senior Textile Designer, Martin has created a sensory invocation of the A/W design – made from a rooibos base with warm chocolate, coconut and mocha overtones.

The flavours echo the luscious colour palette and swirling paisley motif of Folkloric Spice, giving customers the opportunity to imagine the various elements that come together in the rich, warm pattern.Additionally, a floral print within the Folkloric Spice range has been reinterpreted and applied to the unique Trenery Guild x Yswara tin and box packaging.

Together, Martin and Senior Textile Designer, Bree Dhaliwal, played with colour and graphic elements to create the exclusive tea pattern, adding another layer to the collaboration and the Trenery story. Textile prints used throughout the Trenery collections are developed in-house by the Trenery print design team, who gather inspiration from around the world and reinterpret these into designs that are used exclusively for Trenery, or adapt exclusive designs that have been purchased from international print studios and vintage archives.

“I really enjoyed working on this collaboration,” says Martin. “The consideration taken by Trenery in all their products is mirrored in the Yswara brand. We take inspiration from around the world, but create a distinctly African product as our teas are grown solely on African soil and are all ethically sourced.

“Just like Trenery, for Yswara it’s of paramount importance that there’s a consistent quality – and for us, this is about slowing things down, taking care, and creating something with lasting value – whether it be memories or beautiful product.”
The Trenery Guild x Yswara collaboration launched in April the Trenery Cavendish Square standalone store.
