When awards season came around at the beginning of the year, all eyes were on the red carpets. From the Oscar and Grammy Awards to some of 2018’s biggest movie premieres such as Ocean’s 8 and Black Panther, celebrities have served us some unforgettable looks.

Here’s a look at this year’s top five most memorable red carpet stars and their finest fashion moments.

Lady Gaga

This year Lady Gaga tops the list. She's the queen of transformation. One day she’s rocking a masculine oversized suit and the next she’s the epitome of elegance in exquisite gowns.

A Star is Born is one of 2018’s biggest movie hits. Not only did Gaga shine in her role but she lit up the red carpet at the movie premieres. It’s hard to choose just one of her red carpet outfits when each was so different yet equally inspiring.

But it’s the Valentino Couture gown she wore to the Venice International Film Festival that won’t be forgotten. Every inch of the floor-length gown was covered in soft pink feathers. She wore her hair in a simple updo and minimal makeup, which allowed the dress to take centre stage.

Rihanna

Every year Riri stuns on the red carpet. This year she continued to push red carpet style boundaries, especially during the world premieres of the movie Ocean’s8.

At the New York premiere, the singer and actress again out-did herself when she wore a liquid metal Givenchy dress. Depending on the light, the pleated metallic fabric shifted from bronze to plum and black. She completed the look with strappy Manolo Blahnik sandals and a purple lip.

Cardi B

The hip-hop artist has had quite a year. Her tracks have broken music chart records, she became a mom for the first time and she seriously upped her red carpet game. Just a month after giving birth to her daughter, Kulture, she stepped on to the red carpet at this year’s MTV VMAs wearing a violet body-hugging asymmetrical velvet dress by Nicolas Jebran.

As much as we loved that look, it’s the outfit she wore to the American Music Awards that really grabbed attention. She brightened up the red carpet in a Dolce and Gabbana over-the-top floral-print gown with matching headpiece. The gown featured a sizable slit on the left side to show off Cardi’s legs.

Zendaya

The 22-year-old actress has made a few memorable red carpet appearance over the past few years and this year has been no different.

She rocked a silver Joan of Arc-inspired outfit at this year’s Met Gala and bold striped one-shoulder dress at the Grammys.

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex

She might not be your typical A-list celebrity but she certainly is a royal one. New to the royal family, the former Suits actress has been making waves on the royal fashion scene since she said “I do” to Prince Harry.

The Duchess, who is pregnant with her first child, was recently named the best-dressed woman of 2018 by People magazine and it’s easy to see why. Always effortlessly chic, the Duchess fails to disappoint when she makes public appearances.

It’s hard to pick out just one look, but it’s the gorgeous black and white gown by Oscar de la Renta that featured bird designs, that was the most glamorous.
