Popular on the TV screens, former YoTV presenter, Hulisani Ravele is taking on the beauty industry by storm.

The media personality is collaborating with Studio MoMa, a grooming salon in Parktown with a nail bar, beauty studio, hair salon and barber shop.

Studio MoMa was founded in March 2017 by Mpho Sedibe who recently partnered with Boipelo Nkadimeng and Hulisani Ravele.

“Having a grooming shop is something I tried at some point but couldn't find the perfect location. Growing up with self esteem issues, grooming has always been a cover up. I always wanted to be groomed so that I feel like I look better."

"I never found a place where I would walk out feeling better and I wanted to create a place that creates an experience and a relationship, which led to me starting a shop,” says Sedibe.

“Grooming speaks to the empowerment of oneself. When you're confident from within it starts showing on the outside and when the outside matches the inside then all is good. Venturing into business is also about finding a place where you can invest in,” says Ravele.

In a just over a year, Studio MoMa has grown into one of the best beauty places in the city of Jozi.

“The business has evolved a lot. When we first started it was just a nail bar and then in August we added the hair salon, barbershop and beauty treatment. For us it's a positive signal that we're on the right track,” says Sedibe.

To grow even further, they're planning on expanding the brand by opening more franchises.

“We're looking at options where to take our next store. We will be extending the footprint of Studio MoMa because we  want it to be a brand that is successful and linked with quality and the people's first choice,” says Ravele.
