Lipstick must-haves

Every woman needs a lipstick she can throw in her bag and whip out when she wants to go from drab to fab. As much as a classic red lipstick is an essential in any make-up collection, there are other lipstick colours and textures that no lipstick lover should be without.

Here is a list of must-have shades and textures to add to your make-up bag:

Nude:

A nude colour lipstick works well for everyday looks. For evenings wear a nude lip with dramatic smoky eyes.

Clear gloss:

Wear it on it's own for a bit of shine on bare lips or over your favourite lipstick for a more glossy look.

Red:

If you have only one lipstick in your handbag, make sure it's red. No woman should be without her signature red. Find one that works best for your skin tone and you're set for day and night looks.

Pink:

Pretty in pink! I reckon that says it all. Matte, glossy or sheer, pink is the baby sister to your classic red.

Dark:

Sometimes you need something dark and mysterious to vamp up an evening look. This is where a deep berry or oxblood red lippy comes in.

Matte:

Matte textured lipsticks have gained popularity over the past few years and, even though I wouldn't classify it as an essential, it is a great addition to your collection. Pick your favourite colour for an instant update.

Bold:

Think outside the box and add a colour to your collection that's unexpected. A bright orange, purple or even dark blue will definitely add a bit of drama to any look.
