Sipping on bubbly, rubbing shoulders with the who’s who on social scene while enjoying the equestrian sport, this prestigious event is as much about fashion as it is about the game.

“We have always been quite specific when it comes to the fashion and dress code for this event. As with the event positioning, we always ensure that its very ‘internationally relevant’, and that it reflects the latest international fashion trends as it happens on the catwalks of Paris, Milan and New York” says Anina Malherbe-Lan, co-owner of the event and chief executive of publicity company Vivid Luxury.

“We also try and inspire people to embrace ‘polo fashion’ which is generally focusing less on looking ‘glamorous’ (a word we don’t like to associate with this event) and more on ‘day time chic’. This means soft flowy dresses, jumpsuits and summer suits for the men, in light summer fabrics, and light pastels, brights or florals” says Malherbe-Lan.

The theme for this year's #VCMastersPolo was ‘Cape Town Summer’ and here are a few of favourite looks on the day:
