Stella McCartney's showcased her Summer/Spring 2018 collection on Tuesday during this year’s Paris Week (#PFW). The collection featured dresses, tops and jumpsuits using traditional Nigerian ankara print fabrics. The designs were plain and resembled everyday casual wear for African women. A number of people were not impressed and took to social media to air their irritation regarding yet another high-end designer’s appropriation African culture without credit.

meanwhile there was only ONE African model on her runway?!🙄 pic.twitter.com/ljrvfNYMNK

We all know African prints are awesome & beautiful, appreciate them, but don’t make it look like you just discovered them #stellamccartney
