Today marks the 21st anniversary of Diana, Princess of Wales, death.

Born Diana Frances Spencer, the mother of two and philanthropist was tragically taken away before her time as a result of injuries sustained in a horrific car crash in the Pont de l'Alma road tunnel in Paris, France.

Princess Diana left behind her two sons Prince William who now has a growing family of his own and Prince Harry who recently married actress Meghan Markle. Harry continues his mom's philanthropic work.

Diana's love and influence were evident where ever she went.

The princess was and remains one of the history's most  prominent fashion icons as much as she was an international icon in her own right

Whether she was relaxing with her sons or attending formal events, she was always on trend and often set trends.

If Di wore something, like her bubble skirt or black sheep jersey, everybody started wearing them.

Here's a look at Diana's favourite looks and the ones we loved.

Diana wore this dress the very same evening that Prince Charles confessed to his adultery with Camilla. It was called the “The Revenge Dress”.

This teal sequin dress gives us them Studio 54 vibes.

She was a loving mother and enjoyed spending time with her sons. Her informal, relaxed style outfits were made up of comfortable shirts with jeans, ankle grazers and slacks. Here are relaxed looks we love.

We might consider the bubble skirt a 90's fashion mishap, but when Diana wore her famous bubble skirt it was an instant hit.

Dots will never go out of style, but it quite obvious that Diana was a huge fan. Here are just a few times she wore dots.
