Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd have tied the knot. The country music stars got married in a romantic ceremony on Saturday (March 24) in Nashville, where they first met in a songwriting session, PEOPLE reports.

In the days leading up to the wedding, Morris, 27 and Hurd, 31, shared their excitement on social media, with Morris admitting she was feeling "sentimental" while writing her wedding vows.

Sharing a picture of them together on Instagram, she wrote: "Writing vows, feeling sentimental AF and dreaming of this guy being my freaking husband in a few days (sic)."

And Hurd released 'Diamonds or Twine,' the song he wrote for Morris before their engagement last year.

He said: "I wrote this song for you, played it for you in Michigan the night I asked you to marry me. Diamonds or twine, no matter what, I’ll be wrapped around your finger. I love you, MM. Here’s to forever (sic)."

Although the pair first met in 2013, during the songwriting session which produced Tim McGraw's 'Last Turn Home' from his 'Sundown Heaven Town' album, they did not start dating until 2016.

Morris previously said: "We had been friends, but there was always this writing chemistry in the room, and eventually, the timing of it was undeniable.

"We had such a foundation built off writing so many songs over the years that we were like, 'Why are we avoiding this?'"

And she revealed exactly why she fell for Hurd, explaining: "Obviously writing together is very intimate because it's sort of acting where you need to get to a really deep place to get the most emotional song. He's always just been so talented, but I think the biggest thing about him that I fell in love with was just his kind heart. He's one of the most thoughtful people in the world."

Hurd added: "We had kinda a creative partnership, friendship, before we became anything romantic. It's different now. We still write songs together a little bit now, but it's kinda secondary to everything else.
