Who better to get last minute advice from than last year's Best Dressed Woman, Camilla Beazley, and LQP Coordinator, Katherine Gray.

Here are their tips on how to rock the strictly blue and white theme.

How can one interpret the blue and white theme differently this year?

Katherine:

Elegance and attention to detail is important to the judges. Whilst the blue and white theme is consistent, small details can make a big difference in making the final decision.

Camilla:

Every year the blue and white theme allows for style and elegance. I would suggest sticking with your own style and taste and don’t be afraid to be different!

What are the best accessories to look out for when putting your outfit together?

Katherine:

A hat for ladies is essential in order to be considered for the competition. Outfits that are appropriate for racing and elegant are essential and of course, a good mix of the blue and white theme.

Camilla:

A hat is the obvious choice. There are always so many beautiful hats at the Queen’s Plate and any outfit would not be complete without one. A good pair of sunglasses can also help bring everything together.

What are the essential items for the day?

Katherine:

A hat, L’Ormarins Brut Classique and a lot of good luck for betting!

Camilla:

A beautiful hat and any racing tips you can get your hands on!

What would be considered a definite outfit no-no for LQP?

Katherine

: No jeans, no shorts, nothing too short or too revealing.

Camilla:

Nothing too short or inappropriate. Elegance is always important for LQP. Stiletto heels can also be tricky in the grass.
