Durban - About 100 people and their dogs attended the 2018 Paws on the Promenade walk on the uMhlanga Promenade on Sunday.

The event in collaboration with Hills Pet Nutrition and the uMhlanga UIP saw community members in this 2,5km non-profit dog walk.

“From the tiny tiny to the big and fluffy, to the short and stocky, it was so exciting to see so many different types of dogs and their loving pet parents gather together in support of this wonderful community event,“ said event organisers.

The walk was aimed at promoting responsible dog walking and raising donations for the pets at Project Dog and Feeding the Furballs.

“Thanks to the generosity of our dog walkers, we raised R4 090 and 50kg's of pet food which all goes to Feeding the Furballs and Project Dog,”

Project Dog brought along three-legged Casey who loved playing with all the other dogs, as well as Nala and Simba, two very happy Africanis dogs that took part in the walk.

The uMhlanga Improvement Precinct provided marshals and arranged a 911 medical team on standby as well as a clean up team.
