Durban – A 6-year-old girl sustained head injuries when she fell off playground equipment at a Durban primary school on Thursday.

Mobi-Claw 911(MC911) spokesperson Mike Myers said its control centre received a request for help from a school staff member.

Myers said it was reported that a 6-year-old schoolgirl had fallen from a piece of playground equipment and sustained head and facial injuries.

According to Myers an off-duty MC911 incident manager, who was close by, went to the school to help while the ambulance services were on their way.

“He (the off-duty manager) reported that the patient was conscious, very confused, bleeding from one ear and that she may have a dislocated or broken jaw,” said Myers.

Myers said paramedics stabilised the patient and took her to hospital.
