For many school children coming from impoverished communities crayons, exam pads or pencil cases are not things they often have access to.

Park Boulevard Centre in Durban North is appealing to the community to to dig into their children’s old stationery piles, or for them to add on some extra pens and books onto their stationery purchases for next year in a bid to help out those children who need a few items for their schooling.

Any working pens, pencils, crayons, scissors, rulers, erasers, as well as unused A4 and A5 hard cover, and soft cover books and exam pads, files and even play dough, paints and other stationery items are also welcome.

The donated stationery can deposited into the collection boxes situated at Park Boulevard Centre from now until the end of November.

The stationery will then be sorted by the Park Boulevard Centre management team. Schools, pre-schools and high schools in need of these items will then be identified and given the donated stationery.

Readers are encouraged to inform the Park Boulevard Centre management team of any schools in desperate need of stationery items for the upcoming year.

Those who own a business or would like to become donors of this campaign are requested to contact co-ordinators on [email protected].
